I spent all day driving to Franz Josef. I stopped in Greymouth for lunch. It looked very grey and didn't seem to have much going for it.
When I got to the hostel in Franz Josef the dorm I was in was crammed full of luggage, boiling hot and very untidy. I was very close to losing my temper as I had no where even to put my bag. So I just dumped it in the middle of the room and walked out. Later I told them to turn the heater off.
