Well am still in welly, the wind has returned but ths sun is still shining!

Have been in welly almost a week now and kicked off my sightseeing by spending the day at the amazing Te Papa museum which is New Zealand's national museum and translates into "Our Place". Spent the entire day wadering around the 4 storey building checking out all the exhibits which ranged from an earthquake simulaor to realife refugee stories!

The next morning with the sun still shining done a walking tour of the city which started at the NZ Parliment builiding where I was lucky enough to actually see the NZ Prime Minister as well as a Maori leader. Saw the official introduction which included an army parade and band as well as a Maori tribe with tribal dancing! So after taking in all the ceremony made my way along Lambton Quay and caught the cable car to the Botanic Gardens which had amazing views of the city and the Cook Strait. Before headig back down and continuing my city tour through to Civic Square and crossing the City and Sea bridge down on to the harbour before finishing it off in funky Cuba Street!

Weather was fairly miserable on Wednesday so didn't venture very far by decided to use that time to work out my route north! Which is going to take in Taupo, Rotorura, Whitianga on the Coromandel Penisular, then Tuaranga, Hamilton, Paihia and Cape Reinga before ending in Auckland!

Thursday was another museum day where visited the Wellington city and sea museum not as good as Te Papa but still interesting. then met Carmel for some lunch before visiting the city gallery and browsig the exhibits there! Half if welly had major powercut that afternoon so I'd gottne back to hostel just in time as loads of shops had to close including carmel's work. Thankfully our hostle still had power!

Have spent today wandeing around the harbour until i reahed the beach! Welly as a city really does have eveything; cool downtown area, gorgeous working harbour, funky shops and a beach!!

Heading to the cinema tonight and then for some shopping and a cocktail party tomorrow!
