Have now recovered from my birthday and am writing this from Queenstown!
The Friday after my bday didn't get anymore productive than McDs and a great Mexican that night!
The next day however most def was with the sum shining in Christchurch we spent he day lazing around Catherdral Square watching the various street artists ranging from a very disturbing clown to the great mullet man! As well as enjoying kebabs in the sunshine! That night we were off to the ami stadium to watch the crusaders vs the waratahs in a super 14s league game! Some of the crusaders team even had a few international All Blacks in it including kicker Dan Carter! The crusaders won what was a really good game and another taste of nz life and a good night to mark the last full day we all will have together for a long time! :(
On Sunday the sun was shining again so made our way back to the square after i got a new camera! Had another kebab type thing for lunch which was huuuuge then it was time to say bye to Carmel who had to catch her flight back to wellington and the rest of us spent the day lazing about fiendz and playing table tennis! Was an early night with mel and rich leaving for welly at 7am and me getting the bus at 9am to Tekapo.
Arrived at Lake Tekapo around lunchtime and made my way to Lakefront Lodge Backpackers! Was quiet a walk espc with backpack but the open fire made it worth it as the wind was howling from the turquoise lake! Walked back into the village after checking in to get some lunch and wander around the clear turquoise waters. The strange colour of the lake (not sure it's clear in pictures) comes from the particles in the water reflecting the light. It's sooo pretty. Spent a little while walking around before getting noodles for tea and heading back to that openfire!
Tuesday was back on the naked bus again this time heading to Queenstown! Arrived around teatime in the howlig wind and pourin rain so literally checked into first hostle I found haha. And couldn't be bothered heading back out haha. Today has def been more productive however as went on a walking tour all around queenstown including walking to the top of the viewpoint! Seriosuly thought wasn't going to make that uphill walk haha was def worth it though for the view and met a Finnish girl walking up too who was struggling just as much as me haha. Dinner tonight is at Fergburger where everyone who has ever had one in queenstown finds the need to tell you that it is a must eat! So am hopin it lives up to expections! Then am off to Milford Sound tomorrow on a daytrip!
