Day 28

Hoped to get on a tour into the Super Pit as we arrived for it too late the last time we were in Kalgoorlie. However, alas, it wasnt meant to be as they weren't running it today. Went up to watch the rock being blasted away from the lookout, should be able to see the dust starting to rise from the blast in this picture.

Pretty quiet afternoon spent getting ready for our next journey which starts tomorrow. So supplies bought and nuts and bolts tightened on the car.

Tomorrow we start the 'Outback Way', called Australia's longest shortcut from Perth to Cairns. We plan to travel the section from Laverton to Alice Springs to start with so will be out of mobile reception for about 5 or 6 days. By all accounts it is a straightforward road, with a good surface and well serviced.
