Day 28 Hoped to get on a tour into the Super Pit as we arrived for it too late the last time we were in Kalgoorlie. However, alas, it wasnt meant to be as they weren't running it today. Went up to watch the rock being blasted away from the lookout, should be able to see the dust starting to rise from the blast in this picture. Day 27 The original plan was to travel North to Darwin from Perth but given all the rain they are still receiving in the North of Australia we have decided to head back towards Sydney with the possibility of flying up to Darwin later in May when hopefully the 'wet' is over. Day 19 Spent the day exploring the Kalgoorlie-Boulder mining area and the huge super pit 500m deep that they have dug into the ground as well as some of the enormous machinery use. To fill one of the Cat dumper trucks it takes 6000 litres of diesel which even makes our Discovery look good! Overnight: Norseman caravan park Distance: 400km
