Day 29
After picking up permits from the visitors centre in Laverton and buying some Aboriginal artwort, started the 'Outback Way' following the Great Central Road.
Travelled 311 km through the Great Victoria Desert along the red dirt road which is in mainly good condition with just a few sandy sections.
Met 4 cars on the road, can see the dust plume long before the car is visible which calculated to be around 5.25km away on the long straight roads.
After the sun went down we had some peace from the flies which seem determined to land on all parts of my face including up nostrils, on eyelids and in eardrums. This relief was short lived as the mozzies set in soon afterwards. However it was a very nice campsite, so we retired to the TV room complete with lazyboy chairs, random but welcome.
Overnight: Tjukayirla Roadhouse
Distance: 660km
