We decided we wanted to explore more of the beautiful west coast beaches of Naxos, so we rented a 150cc 2 seater quad for the next 2 days and headed south down the west coast! We went past Plaka where we were yesterday and went down another 4km or so and stopped briefly at Mikri Vigla beach. Just like Plaka it is a beautiful beach! We continued further on and stopped at the north end of Cape Agali on the southern end of Kastraki beach. We had a quick walk on the beach and found it to be a beautiful spot with the token golden sand and beautiful turquoise waters. It also further south then the buses go and its very quiet with only a few people on the entire beach! We kept this spot in mind and continued down to Pirgaki beach and then continued on a winding gravel road around a headland to Agiassos which is pretty much the end of the north on the west coast! Its very quiet with no hotels and accommodation and is extremely dry and rugged country! We decided to head back and relax at the few beaches we picked out earlier and set up on the south end of Kastraki beach and enjoyed some leftover pizzas and beer and went for a swim. We slowly made our way back and had a good stop off at Mikri Vilga beach as well before making our way back home. Was definitely worth renting the quad and being able to just hop on it and go wherever and wherever you want, especially to places you would never see on a bus or a tour!
When we got back we cleaned up got on the quad and took the quick drive down to Agia Anna and had a wonderful dinner there and caught the sunset. The clouds have been rolling in and there was lightning during out meal. Literally 2 mins after we drove home and got in to our place, the rain starting coming down!! Talk about good timing, and also the first bit of rain we have had on the trip. Will see what the weather is doing tomorrow, we are hoping to go to the Tragea region to Halki and then on to hike to the cave of Zeus!

Myles and Nina Happy to hear about the other beaches on the island being as amazing as the ones we managed to bus to! As always, we are very jealous!
