Our Global Gallivants
Last call for macadamia nut pancakes, so that's what I had for breakfast. Maybe a good combination would be macadamia nut and blueberry. I didn't think of it until I saw Jocelyn sitting across from me eating blueberry pancakes. I'm sure they would have been accommodating enough to make them if requested. Dave decided to have spam and eggs for old times sake. After breakfast we headed to the flea market at the Stadium. All of the stuff is new and there are a LOT of small booths selling everything from sandwiches to wood carvings and jewelry. We were only planning on spending a short time there and then heading back to the pool, but we ended up spending the entire afternoon there! Everyone bought stuff there and it was a lot of fun. A funny thing happened at the flea market. Dave and I were sitting on the curb in the shade waiting for the rest of the group when we see these 2 huge guys with long white hair and beards walk by. They were both wearing tacky Hawaiian shirts. They stood out like sore thumbs. I turned to Dave and said look at those hillbillies! No sooner had I spoken than I hear Jan saying Bea where are you? I need your camera to take a picture with these 2 guys. We were laughing so hard I could hardly get the camera out of my bag. She said they were Hawaiian Santas, haha. By the time we got back to the condo we had to get our luggage packed. We had a visit on the deck and then went for Chinese food. We were too early to go to the airport so we stopped at the outlet mall to do a little more shopping before heading to the airport. It was a fun time with friends. Very bumpy flight in places on the way home. Good thing we didn't pack the turtle carving that we bought in the suitcase. Looks like the suitcase sustained a crush injury. We had to make a luggage claim with Westjet and that was a much more positive experience than when we had to make a claim with Air Canada. They apologized and gave us a credit to buy a new suitcase.
