Our Global Gallivants
Before I talk about today's activities, there were a couple of standouts from last night that missed the press deadline. I'll give the bad news first and that was the movie. It was Knock, Knock with Keanu Reeves. That movie could only be described as disturbing. It was like Fatal Attraction on steroids with an inconclusive ending. Stay away! On a positive note, one of the food joints to hit is Ted's Bakery on the north shore. We didn't drive to the north shore, but picked up the same famous haupia pie at Safeway. Omg! Happy place. Pie crust, something close to chocolate mousse topped with a coconut pudding like topping and then topped with whipped cream. Oh, yeah! Went for a quick walk this morning to take a few photos. There are 4 coves here, but just had time to do 2. The landscaping on the property here is beautiful, so had to capture some of that as well. Had a headache this morning, so skipped the gym. We went out for breakfast to the pancake place that we like. I had been looking forward to some macadamia nut pancakes but when I got there I had a craving for banana pancakes, so that's what I had. On Marcus' recommendation Dave had the Hawaiian locomoco. That's a plate of fried rice topped with a hamburger patty topped with over easy fried eggs topped off with gravy. It was good, but more like a dinner item than a breakfast one. Dwight went for the omelette and pancakes. With a full belly we all headed shopping to various stores to pick up some souvenirs and a few things for dinner. Jan had a strawberry sundae for lunch, haha. Living the Hawaiian dream. We had a little time left to sit by the pool when we got back. Chicken curry for dinner and Aloha for the movie.
