Today we had a more leisurely day planned with only 3 things to see and do and the rest of the time to just wander around. We first headed to the Brandenburg Gate which was an amazing sight, quite a spectacle and if only monuments could talk it would have numerous stories to tell. We then headed to Checkpoint Charlie which was one of the many points that Germans or tourists would have to check in to pass the wall, it was then onto a train for a quick ride to the East Gallery where the only stretch of the wall is left and has been decorated by numerous artists, was quite a sight to behold. We ended the day with a touch of window shopping and then a leisurely stroll home where we stopped into an amazing Lutheran Dom and visited the crypt, quite sad to see the numerous baby caskets, there was a little French girl about 4-5 years of age that stopped in front of each on her own and with hands clasped said a little prayer it was very sweet. One thing we have seen here in Europe which is a little strange is sweet shops are inundated with bees, they are over everything with any kind of coating, today they were over all the donuts in Dunkin donuts, weird..... We also saw the tv tower which was really high and impressive. A good day was had and now to rest after a nice hot bath. Tomorrow hopefully off to Sweden after a quick visit to Potsdam :)
