Today was a no plan day so we headed to the beach for a nice leisurely stroll. Mother Nature put on her best for us today as the sun was shining and not a cloud in the sky. The water was so aqua and clear it was stunning. Possibly took too many photos. We found a little cafe and stopped for some breakfast of eggs, toast and bacon with some French bread of course (comes standard with every meal). After eating our breaky overlooking the water we headed to the tourist information place so we could book a tour we wanted to do. The woman behind the counter couldn't have been less helpful than if she just hadn't showed up for the day. So we left there not at all surprised by the lack of information provided by the tourist information centre and without a tour booked so we decided that we would carry on with our day and just see if reception would book it for us on our return to the hotel. We continued on down the beach front towards the hilltop where the old castle use to be. Thankfully I found the lift to the top because there were a hell of alot of stairs that I didn't want to walk up. The view from the top was gorgeous you could see all the way to the airport and up the coast, was fun watching the planes come in and take off. What a shame the castle isn't still around today it would have been amazing. There still remains an area that they are currently digging up and there is a beautiful waterfall and park areas where you can picnic. We headed back down and wandered the streets of the old town admiring the architecture and history of the place. After getting back to the hotel we asked reception to book our tour and she suggested we not go with the company we had chosen and go with one she recommended, the one we chose was €15 cheaper so I asked if they would match that and they agreed. woohoo savings for us!! We then went for a quick stroll to the Russian church near our hotel (it's the biggest Russian architecture outside Russia). It was quite a sight on the outside but nothing special on the inside but was worth the short walk. Now to return to the hotel for a rest and early night in preparation for our big tour day tomorrow.
