So today largely revolved around wine... we had an early start being picked up at 7:40am from the hostel and embarking on a tour with 9 other people, of the famous Barossa Valley, responsible for producing some of Australia's best wines.
On the way we stopped at The Big Rocking Horse (less said the better) and The Whispering Wall, a dam stretching 140m and due to the way it has been structured, on a curve, you can literally hear someone whispering at the other end of the dam, really cool! Jess also got very excited about seeing a couple of kangaroos.
We then headed to Jacob's Creek and tasted 5 of their finest wines. Unfortunately the ones we tasted do not get distributed and are only sold from their cellar door, but most were very nice! We then headed to the Keis family winery where we tasted a further 5 wines and then had a bbq for lunch. This included kangaroo which was very nice and could very well have been the 2 kangaroos that Jess was so excited about seeing earlier!
We then sampled a further 14 wines at 2 more wineries to finish off the tour. It's fair to say that we were both a little tipsy by the end, particularly as Jess didn't like many of the red wine or ports so I ended up drinking hers!
To finish off the day we decided to do a proper touristy thing and head to the cinema and watch the Hunger Games film, I'm never disappointed to see Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth on the big screen!
Oh, today was also an absolute scorcher!
