After a pretty hairy Night bus ride from Sapa and out of the mountains we arrived in Hanoi in 1 piece. A broken down lorry across the road at midnight added an extra 2 hours to the journey or so we thought... This actually means in Vietnamese that you just drive double the speed limit and accelerate as you approach a corner... Needless to say we didn't really sleep during the right, despite Bryn taking a Valium to make the night easier.

We arrived into Hanoi at 6am, jumped straight onto the local bus to the airport for 7000 dong (20p for an hours journey). By 1pm we were back in busy, hot and familiar Bangkok. We stayed in Bangkok just for a couple of nights with our Aussie friends Hannah and Steff and a German friend, David. Sad farewell with David, but celebrated well with a night on the Thai tiles.... Rough next day!

Another night bus from Bangkok and we ended up in Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand.
