Our trip is planned around the idea of simple living, exploring beautiful Asia and living in an eco friendly way as much as possible. hopefully we'll stick to that as much as we can (basically as long as we can survive the bumpy and hot train and bus rides!)
Thursday night we met a real hippy traveller, Emma who took us for an amazing breakfast the next morning at a vegan cafe... Wholewheat vegan pancakes with coconut cream and fruit - heavenly! You haven't been introduced to Bryn's cook book yet but he's doing a recipe book of memorable and delicious foods and drinks whilst were away-ethos vegan wholewheat pancakes are the first feature!
That day involved Wat Pho and the longest Buddha followed by the mahoosive Chinese market which was pretty dire unless you are ecstatic about everything 'hello kitty'! Dim sum lunch was pretty good though.
Both struggling with the heat quite a bit at the moment but the afternoon monsoons are a blessing!
Days are beginning to all blur into 1... it's always a Saturday (a day for resting exploring and enjoying life!) when your travelling. At the weekend we headed to chatuchak market which was the day we met a new friend Kat from oz on the chicken bus ride with the locals en route there. Got myself a sneaky 'under the shirt' style purse/handbag!
Lemon grass and and green tea later and we were fueled ready for the bus back to our hostel near khao San road.
Street food for dinner with a few from the hostel and a film and a few beers in the hostel that evening...relax at last! This heat sucks it out of you but loving Bangkok all the same despite the smells!
