The land of a thousand wonders, wonders being shopping malls. Yep, there's a ton of em', and all bigger than meadowhall! Yet after weeks of beach bumming this taste of relatively first world drama was a lovely change of scene, and here more than any place so far, it felt like Christmas (a bit).
Within hours of arrival we took our seats in times square imax cinema, bellies full of cheesecake (see paragraph on cheesecake) and watched the hobbit pt 2!
Paragraph on cheesecake: arriving in each capital city... Bangkok, Phnom Penh, Hanoi, Vientiane... Jo says "do you reckon they've got a secret recipe", sadly for her none did. Well Phnom Penh did but riots deterred us. The point is, in KL, Jo knew they had secret recipe, so literally 3 hours off the coach we're here! I got dark and white chocolate, Jo got blueberry. And then I understood her excitement, sort of. Anyone going to KL, go here. Best cheesecake ever!
KL in brief:
* christmas shopping.
* fun at the aquarium.
* a trip to the 83rd floor and sky bridge on Petronus Towers.
* mastering the sky train.
* a bottle of white wine (our first in Asia.... No more Chang!)
* aimless wandering.
* learning not to use the goKL bus, the hard way.
* spending a fortune on electronics.
After six days of relaxed sight seeing in the capital, we got the last bus to the airport and settled in for a night on the tiles. 2 hours sleep.
Next stop Christmas on Lanta!
Love Bryn x
