Well, we sure made exciting plans from an annoying situation! So it seems that India don't really like the idea of Brits coming to their country now a days. Apparently since we made it more difficult for Indians to get visas for the UK too. So after being told by the Indian embassy in Australian we should apply for our visas in KL and rearranging flights to give us more time for it, we were told we can't apply from here either, and that Singapore and Sri Lanka are the nearest places to do so.
So we took shelter from the insanely warm but heavy rainy in a sheesha cafe, ordered in our teas and an apple mint sheesha and quickly came up with a new plan. Fancy visiting Sri Lanka Bryn? New flights booked, bank accounts feeling deflated but us excited, we found a book store to find Lonely Planet Sri Lanka book to start planning for our few weeks in this unexpected country!
We couldn't visit KL without a trip to Secret Recipe to have another cheesecake. 'Chocolate Ecstacy' was appropriately named! And a visit to the imax cinema, last time was The Hobbit, this time it was Lucy.
Night bus up to the Perhentian islands for our first hot beach since The Gilis in February. Even though they aren't the most sleeping friendly, it saves a nights accommodation so we're happy. Remembering what to take in your day bag is half the battle. Sarong: in case your fan above you is broken, earplugs: in case the driver decides to crank out the music whilst you're sleeping, blind fold: in case the lights don't go off, something to rest your head on: so you don't get a stiff neck and water and something to eat.
