Blog 84
Glisteningly clear turquoise waters and golden sands beaches. We had arrived back in paradise.
An arduous night bus with sporadic glimpses of sleep brought us, a German, a Spaniard and 2 Uruguayans to Kuala Besut, a small town which seems to function off people making the jump over to the perhentians. The 8am boat turned into the 9.30am boat (Asia time!) but onboard and off we went with first glimpses of blue, green and turquoise waters.
Writing this blog, belatedly, on a train in sri lanka heading up to Anuradhapura, the memories that I recall most vividly of Pulau Kecil (little island) are of lazy hammock (hangenmatte) times, iced milo galore, roti for breakfast, lunch and dinner, shisha on the beach and the best snorkelling of the trip (see wildlife spot list below), in warm clear waters where the coral punched a panorama of colours through sea blue fairy slides.
Three days turned into five here and had we not got a flight booked to Sri Lanka it might have turned into 10. But on the boat, bus, train we went and found ourselves back in the too bright lights of Kuala Lumpur in time for dinner.
