Ol n' Ben around the world
Flying over Svalbard before landing was amazing. Appearing from nowhere, this land covered with mountains and glaciers kept all its promises. Wonderful scenery from the sky.
We finally land at Longyearbyen airport and meet our guide for the trip, Benoit. We are the first ones who join him.
One friend of his, Anthony, arrived 3 days ago and will join us. The rest of the group was on the same plane : Lucas and Cyril, Christophe, Rodolphe, Agnès, Florence, and Valerie.
The luggage is delivered without any problem. We board the mini van and drive to Svalbard Lodge. All the groups from 66 Nord are welcome there. As far as we are concerned, we share two appartments.
In the first one : Lucas, Cyril, Christophe and Rodolphe.
In the second one : Agnes, Florence, Valerie, Anthony and the both of us.
We also meet Robin who is in charge of the logistics.
When we arrive, Anthony and Robin had prepared paella so we can have dinner right away.
Benoit starts telling us more about the trip and the region. He shows us maps and books we can read before leaving.
We finally go to bed around midnight. With the midnight sun and the bar right below our bedroom turned into a disco on Sundays, it was not that easy to find some sleep despite the tiredness of the day.
