After dinner we farewelled the party & checked when we needed to be at the ferry terminal. d*** thought it was 1 hour before departure but the web site said 3 so we raced off by cab only to find that the ship wasn't in so we sat for the next 4 hours in the terminal. We boarded at about 3am & the ship left ort at 4.30 for a very calm voyage to Palermo. As we were sitting up it was long hard night & much to our surprise we found that most people ripped the seat squabs off & made beds on the floor all over the ferry. It looked s if it was some sort of emergency evacuation, quite bizarre.

The ferry docked at about 3.15pm local time & we took a taxi to our hotel only to find it was about 4 storeys in height without a lift. d*** took that pretty hard. The good news was that it is a lovely place.
