Saturday 17th May

Up early to catch the train to Perugia, from what must be the most remote platform in Terminii about 1.5 km from the main station. Arrived in Perugia & went to find the car hire company. A sign on the door said ring a number but no answer. Just then the lady arrived but had no maps of the area & just wanted to get away. Down to the car, a Fiat Bambi & then tried to follow her directions to get to our friends, Freya & Robin. On the 3rd circuit around we eventually found our way on to a motorway but d*** pulled off to go to a village where we had something to eat & drink before trying again. Tempers were very frayed but we eventually managed to catch up with them on the outskirts of Ponte Felcino at a supermarket. From here we followed them on a tortuous route to their rented villa in the hills.

The place is stunning, having been built 2 years ago in an ultra modern style. There are 6 of us staying there, all from Perth, here to celebrate Freya's 70th which we had missed. Had a wonderful dinner & talked to catch up until we went to bed.
