Naples, Florida
Monday 23rd November Off again, this time to Naples on the south west coast, about 3.5 hours on another dual carriageway but this time there were road works for quite long runs. We arrived at about 1pm & caught up with Robina, the daughter of the couple who introduced us ain Melbourne in 1970. It was great to see her in her waterside home on a cut leading to the Gulf of Mexico & also to catch up with Jerry & the kids who we had entertained a few year...
The Villages, Florida
Sunday 22nd November Hired a car from down the road which was quite an effort. Returned to the hotel & then set off for The Villages with the car's trusty navigator. Just about all the way was on dual carriageways & the only frustration was the number of toll booths where we had to pay out single US$ to travel about 2 or 3 miles. Port Canaveral, Florida
Thursday 19th November A slack day at sea. Friday 20th November Yet another lazy day at sea, the highlight was being buzzed by a US Coastguard helicopter. Saturday 21st November Docked at Port Canaveral at about 7.30 & were off the ship by 8.30. Took a taxi bus to the hotel only to be told it was the wrong one. Philipsburg, St Martin
Tuesday 17th November Today we arrived in Philipsberg, St Maarten, an island split between France & Holland. At the terminal were 2 other cruise ships & another joined us about 2 hours later. As with all the islands we visited the terminal shops all sell jewellery & watches or somewhat tatty souvenirs & the tour promoters congregate. We decided to try for the 3rd time to get some US cash & amazingly found an operating ATM on the second try. ...
