So my second day in Christchurch involved going to Karen and Gary's batch in the southern alps which was beautiful! And there was still some snow on the mountains!
Then the challenge began as it was my first time travelling alone that evening.
On my 2nd to last night in queenstown I lost a contact, not sure how but anyone who has been to queenstown knows what it's like! So in my hungover state in the morning I thought it was best to be totally blind rather than blind in just one eye. So when I got to Christchurch airport it all started to go wrong! I struggled to see the entrance so I had to follow the wall round until I found the door, then my baggage label didn't print so I had to go and ask a nice a guy to print me another, clearly I was the only one this had happened to because he looked very confused and couldn't work out why my label was blank (I felt like saying, it's not as if I scrubbed the writing off). Then I merrily walked to what I thought was my gate (after blindly reading the signs), after walking up to just about every door in that area I realised that I was in the wrong place! Luckily I bumped into my friend who I had met on the bus and he pointed me in the right direction.
Just about to land in Auckland and I thought I was home safe and dry and the plane landed with quite a thud so I smacked my hands up onto my face (as if hiding my face was going to help if the plane was crashing) but a nice lady next to me held my hand and said 'it's all right dear'!
Since being in Auckland I have been to the theatre to watch a ballet performance which was awesome! Had my hair cut which was a little worrying having it cut by a total stranger who seemed more interested in what was going on around her than my hair! But oh well it was cheap! And today we went to Auckland harbour to watch paddle boarding racing!
