Two days ago we arrived in queenstown. It is the most beautiful place I have been to! It reminds me of a ski resort with beautiful mountains all around a huge lake. Everywhere I have been to in New Zealand I have been pleasantly surprised by how friendly everyone is, but the people of queenstown have been the friendliest. This place is full of little side streets and cute boutique shops and cafes and bars. Right now I'm writing my blog whilst sitting next to the lake in the sunshine after waking around the park which has the biggest and tallest trees.
Yesterday we all went and did the Nevis bungy which is 134m tall and is the third biggest in the world! It was by far the scariest thing I have ever done but the adrenaline rush after was incredible! I kept my eyes closed for the majority of it but I did it! It was the weirdest sensation jumping of a ledge and then flying through the air! Once I had completed the bungy it was time to get nervous again as Fliss and I decided to do the highest swing in the world! The swing was so much fun and it was awesome having my best friend next to me for the whole thing! Fliss almost chickened out but as soon as she was strapped in there was nothing that she could do :) it was fab!! Everyone was so pumped after it was the best day!
The rest of our time in queenstown was spent playing indoor mini golf which was so much fun! The course was full of ski lifts for the balls, gondolas, bus stations. Fliss and I started off quite well until we got a little tired of then game and started making our balls fly across the course rather than follow the appropriate root. Fliss didn't do to bad, but I came 2nd to last out of 8!
I spent a lot of my time in the park in queenstown which is my favourite place. Even when it was raining and everyone else went back to the hostel, myself and a friend went waking around the park!
Yesterday (28.10.13) I left queenstown which meant leaving the whole group. Saying goodbye to felicity was so sad and many tears were shed. I have had the most amazing time with her. We have shared so many awesome experiences, to live in each others pockets for 2 months and not argue once is pritty cool! She has become such a brilliant friend and I feel very fortune to have shared some of my round the world journey with her!
The kiwi bus has been the best 3 weeks ever, I have made such an awesome bunch of friends and shared so many cool experiences with them! The highlights for me have been sitting in the hot pools in taupo drinking red wine at night, horse trekking n river valley and sitting round singing along to James playing the guitar, and my time in queenstown which has been full of adrenaline rushes and partying! I feel very lucky to have met so many lovely people on the bus, it was like travelling around with 15 of your best friends!
Now I'm in Christchurch sitting outside near the container mall which is a shopping park made from storage containers. I think it's really cool and colourful, especially the fact there is a funky guy playing guitar and singing whilst I'm writing this blog!
