Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
Today we had a great day that didn't end so great. We had planned on staying at Bateman's Bay but got a better deal further north plus I didn't think there was much to see there. So we went a little further to Burrill Lake which is less than 5 minutes south of Ulladulla. The caravan park is in a great spot right on the lake and a short track leads to the beach. This park is one of my favourites and when the planned upgrades are completed it will be even better.
After setting up we had a look around and ending up spending a bit of time down on the beach.
The kids then had a play at the camps park which is perfect for our little ones. Liam particularly liked the rollercoaster which later brings our day to an unfortunate end. In the afternoon we drove into Ulladulla to have a look around and then back to camp before dinner.
It was literally in the last minute before he boys were to leave the playground that the accident happened. Matt was pushing Zach back up the rollercoaster on the bike so he could have another turn and when he got to the top he fell off the side. Unfortunately there was a metal pole there that he hit his head on. Even though he was only between 1-2 feet off the ground, it split his head open. Zach can get a little hysterical especially when blood is involved. So what I could see it didn't look too bad so I sat with him and it took about 30 minutes to calm him down. We had dinner and then I took him to the Milton-Ulladulla hospital to have it cleaned and checked out. The staff were great but he did need to get 3 staples to close it up which sent him hysterical again. It is understandable but I think it was more his mind frame thinking he had staples in his head rather than him in pain. He did well and he was brave getting them done. He was so worn out plus it was late that he fell asleep in the car which thankfully made it easy to put him to bed that night.
