Barden's Great Aussie Adventure 2015
We left camp feeling quite exhausted after our busy days in Canberra and the time went really fast as we were so busy. We drove north to Taralga where we left the camper behind the pub. They allow free camping at the back of the pub in exchange for some patronage.
We drove another 30km to Wombeyan Caves and were glad we didn't drag the camper through the narrow, windy dirt road. The campground was nice and ************e was camping here which apparently it is always the case before Christmas. There are three caves here, two with a tour guide and another self-guided. We took the self-guided tour as there is no waiting and it was shorter which was good for us after our busy week. It is called Fig Tree Cave and has sensors to automate when to turn on lights and commentary. We found the lights weren't on long enough in each section though. The walkway was suspended from the side of the cave wall which was unique to all the other caves we have been in.
Then it was back to the pub in time for lunch and a relaxing afternoon.
