Hellooooo - long time no write i know!! Well let me see.......after the east as trip i headed to smelly rotorua (only smelly cos of the sulphur from the natural geysers etc). So there i went to a maori cultural night called Tamaki. Went with some people from my hostel cassie, mike and matt. It was a real fun evening and we got to see a traditional maori village, some dancing, poi shows, hakas etc. Was a great night and we even got fed traditional maori food. We had an initiation into the village with a menancing tribal dance followed by a peace offering - it was all really cool to see but really q scary!! It kinda rained a bit whilst i was there so didnt do that much. I headed to Waitapu (see the photo above) its a park with natural sulphur lakes, bubbling mud pools and geysers. It really smelled but was amazing to see. Took some awesome photos of it all. My hostel was really good - stayed in place called treks and it even had seperate beds not bunks - woohoo - small things please small minds! Thats all from rotorua love nikki xx
