This is my second attempt at today's blog - I managed to delete the first one when trying to upload it.....
I totally underestimated the Kenyan hills - there are lots and lots and lots of hills. Not steep hills but hills that just go on and on and on and on....
Today's route was split into 6 sections, 4 before lunch and 2 after. We had a quick warm up and set off at 7.15am.
During the first section we had a police escort through the first village, the second section we cycled past Treetops (where the queen was where she could out she was the Queen), we also had some magnificent views of Mount Kenya and the Aberdare National Park.
At our lunch stop we were visited by a local school who sang for us (all the songs had a very religious theme)! We gave the children some toys and pens etc that we had brought with us.
After lunch there were slightly less hills but the roads had deteriorated somewhat. There were pot holes everywhere.
At 15.40 we crossed the Equator - there was a break for photos and then we set off on the final section of the day.
I cycled that last section with one on the ladies who had a fall earlier on so we took it at a very steady pace so by the time we reached the hotel I hard cooled down nicely and was ready for a drink..... Wine here is about £1 a glass

Alison At that price you could have two glasses! Sounds like you are really enjoying yourself, what a fantastic experience.
Deb Sounds fab, good job you put in all the training for the hills! x
