Ouch - slightly too much fun last night meant getting to bed at 03.15, so this morning's 06.00 alarm call was not very welcome! We had a lively celebration dinner last night, our group has raised over £300,000 for the 3 charities and there is still money coming in. Just a quick update re Alyson - the doctors have done an excellent job of stitching her wound (and I watched the whole thing - which was fascinating)! She is fine (plenty of painkillers) and we are now sharing a bottle of Kenya's finest wine (!) prior to our celebration meal.

Today has been interesting to say the least. I started the ride today full of drugs after waking up feeling very poorly and for the first 20kms I could hardly turn the pedals - I was extremely slow, every metre felt like a mile and every pothole seemed to vibrate through my head. Fortunately after about an hour the drugs started to kick in and I started to feel better. At the first drinks stop I filled up on biscuits and energy snacks and things just got better...
