So on Thursday we went to Phillip island for 3 days to stay with jen's daughter Elaine and Gary's family, they have three girls Chealsea, Kobe and little Evie and Magic the Dog, a 4 month old border collie !!
it took about 3 hour drive to get there with a few ladies stops on the way, it was abeautiful day 30 degrees so when we arrived the girls had just got back from school and Evie deceided to take Jon and I to the beach , this is only 20 houses away!!! this is a really good surf beach in which all the family surf.
WE had a meal with the family that night and then had an early night.
We then explored Phillip island over the next two days inbetween being on the beach!!! we went to Rhyll wetlands and walked the 5 k ropute had lunch in Cowes went to The Nobbies which are large rocks and pools on the coast which 1.5k out there are a seals on the rocks which you can take a trip out to see, drove around Rhyall which is a pictureque fishing hamlet, looked around Cowes and looked at taking a 30 mintue ferry to French island which is a National park which is salt marsh land, mangroves on the mudflats, (Kylie is ment to have brought some of the island) they have 600 plant secies and lots of bird life.
We then went to Chichill Island which you get to by a bridge from Newhaven, this is a working heritage farm and Evie told us we had to go, we went to San remo which is the gate way to Phillip island where this is a fishing port which supples the reigon , then headed back on a walk around the Cape Woolami coast line and at low tide we went to the rock pools.
In between all this we enjoyed the sunshine on the beach went to see Kobie surf on saturday afternoon.
Saturday night Jen;s son ben and his wife Gin came to stay with there son henry who is 9 weeks old!! we all went out to celebrate jen's Special birthday ( can not possibly say how old??) we had a great meal and evening.
Sunday we headed back to Bairnsdale but just before we left Jon, Chelsea and I went to the chocolate factory where there is a 4.5 meter choclate waterfall a one tonne brink of chocolate and the worls's largest chocolate mosaic wof a ladies face, and of course samoled a few pecices made our our choclate from the making machine it was like being in Willy Wonka's factory it was so cool, Jon make white chocolate Wasbie !!! I make milk choclate Strawberry and Veggiemite and Chealsea made dark chocolate Cola tit cosy 2 dollars and was great fun, then then dropped chealsea off at her friends house then went back to pick jen up to head home.
Yesterday we went to Orbost which is about 1.5 hrs from bairnsdale up in the hills a rreally pretty drive, and then came back and booked a tour fro later from broome - darwin and are looking at doing Alice springs etc.
Must go off to Raymond island today for a bike ride not sure weather to drive there 16 k each way then ride around the island or drive then ride , Will let you know??
