The journey to Kho Tao was a little long from Ko Samet, but was well worth it!! We spent 3 nights on the island of Ko Samet which is only a few hours from Bangkok. Arriving at Ko Samet we had had a few tips from Simon and Kirsty who we met in Fiji, and so we saved on a taxi cost and trekked to accommodation with our rucksacks in the heat…the things you will do to save a few pounds!! So on Monday 6th Feb we left Bangkok and headed for Pak Chong on the bus; the town near to Khao Yai National Park. We had pre booked to stay at the 'Greenleaf' guesthouse who we had heard do the best tours of the park, so they came and picked us up from the bus which was handy. So on Friday 3rd Feb we set off at 7am and got the train from Bangkok to Kanchanaburi - the town where bridge on the river Kwai is.
