Wayne's & Bonnie's Travels
It's actually the day after Vienna and this will again be short. We are happy but tired. We took a bus/walking tour of the city in the morning. Vienna must have about a billion palaces (well maybe only a million), each one more impressive than the next. After the tour we had some free time. One of the things you have to do in Vienna is to have a coffee at one of their coffee houses (Wiener Kaffeehaus). We found one quickly and sat down at the bar. Our timing was excellent. There was no one there when we sat down and by the time the coffee came there were people waiting. We went back to the ship for lunch and then joined the concierge (Constantine), the head chef, and about 20 others on a trip to the local market via the subway. We always find it fun to get out in a city and mingle with the people using local transportation. The market was bustling and we spent a couple of hours there. We had to head back to the ship, have an early dinner, and then head to one of the palaces for a Mozart and Strauss Concert. It was held in a huge hall and there were about 1,000 in attendance. The music was beautiful and there is definitely something special about hearing the Blue Danube performed in Vienna.
