Wayne's & Bonnie's Travels
Today was a full day trip to the Estancia Santa Susana (ranch). We joined a full bus of other tourists for the over an hour drive outside the city. The ranch is quite pretty in a very rural area. It was built by an Irish Argentine couple and has been used as a tourist attraction for the past 25 years. We had the option to ride horses but opted to take a horse drawn wagon ride instead. Wise thing with my back. We had a couple of hours of free time to enjoy the ranch and the old house which is now used as a museum. Then came lunch with all the salad, beef, chicken, sausage, beer and wine we wanted. During dinner we enjoyed watching flamingo, tango, bollos, and singing. After "lunch" the gauchos put on a demonstration of their talents. We slept well on the bus ride back to the city. Our hotel is located in a very nice shopping/hotel district and the area is very safe. We went out for an evening walk to try to work off some of the lunch.
