Wayne's & Bonnie's Travels
Today is March 4 in Buenos Aires and I'm just writing a short blog for Feb. 27 in Montevideo. I guess we have been busy. I’ll try to write about a couple of more days today but make no promises. We have a tango show to get ready for.
It’s hard to believe that just a few days ago we were all cold and wishing for some heat. No more. We are in Montevideo and it is HOT. We did have a very enjoyable day. Another Cruise Critic member had arranged for a tour for 17 of us to tour the city and then have go to a home barbeque. Montevideo is a clean modern city and Uruguay has been called the Switzerland of South America for its pro banking and business policies. The city tour was quite enjoyable but nothing was exceptional. The exceptional part was that the barbeque was actually at the tour operator’s Hebert, house. It had a large open courtyard where his wife and two daughters had prepared beef, chicken, sausage, sweet potatoes and peppers over an open wood grill. The food was great and tannat wine (local to Uruguay) was delicious. There was more food than we could eat and we had all we wanted to drink.
Today marked the 11th year of marriage to the love of my life. Bonnie makes me so happy and we have such a great time together. She is so beautiful, loving, thoughtful and, of course, fun. If we are cruising we usually celebrate at one of the specialty restaurants. We were so full from the barbeque we decided to just share some wine and have a few appetizers at the café. It was perfect.
