We woke up at around 9am after a well needed sleep. Both our muscles were aching from all the walking. Our bus to Arequipa wasn't till 8pm but we had to check out at 11am. We decided to do some laundry and packed up the rest of our stuff before dropping off the laundry and going for breakfast. We went to Jacks cafe which was recommended by the book and werent disappointed. The food was good, portions huge and the juices were nice too.
After finishing we headed back to the hostel to plan arrange details for Colca Canyon. We stopped at a couple of agents to ask about trips but decided we would organise it ourselves as we didn't want to stop at markets and wanted more time in the canyon itself. We spent the afternoon lounging and doing our research. We couldn't come up with a plan as the connections didn't seem to work, so we decided to note down the options for places we could end up and we would play it by ear.
At 7pm we called a taxi and headed of to the Cruz del Sur bus terminal. Upon arriving we were impressed with the set up, there was proper baggage check in, photos were taken of all passengers and the driver had to take a breathalyser!! The coach was also good the seats were comfy and we had good room. The coach left on time and after our meal, which wasn't so great, we reclined the chairs and got ready to sleep.
At that time we got a mail from Luke and Ellie that they were in Arequipa but were leaving the next day. They recommended their hostel so we had a plan of where to go. We then went to sleep as the bus made its way through the night.
