We had left the curtains open again and awoke just before the sunrise. The sky was an amazing red colour and we watched it change shades as the sun came up. The sleep on the plane didn't go so well and I had a really uncomfortable night, I barely got any sleep as we arrived into Sao Paulo airport 4 hours after we had set off. We had gained two hours and it was now just past 6. Our connection to Rio was at 6.40 and we guessed we wouldn't make it. We got a knock on our door at quarter to six from John, saying we could get up and see the sunrise. We slowly got up and made our way to the veranda.
