What a day - hiking 5.5 kilometres STRAIGHT UP HILL, to the top of Mombacho Volcano. There is a beautiful view of the volcano from central Granada, so we decided "what the heck" - why not hike to the top.
It was one of the hardest physical things I've ever done. But the views from the top were amazing! You can see Lake Nicaragua in the background, along with Las Isletas. The views were well worth the 3 hours of difficult hiking!
