Collen gave Reagan and I a "date night". We got to wander around Granada, enjoying a few cafes. At one point, we stopped for a drink on the veranda of Hotel Alhambra, one of the nicest hotels in Granada.; While there, a beautiful stray cat came up. We noticed it had a badly injured ear. Reagan wanted to take it to the vet, but we quickly learned there are no animal hospitals in Granada. Heck, there is poor health care for people - let alone stray animals. So close to tears, Reagan talked the waiter into getting a saucer of milk, so we could feed it to el gato.
The next morning, our entire crew set off with more food, in an effort to give el gato more food. Our first stop was Hotel Alhambra. We learned that el gato actually hangs out at the hotel, and is a welcomed addition. The concierge took us on a bit of a wild goose chase, trying to find el gato. We finally found him - perched on a ledge on the second floor. El gato had a great chicken and pork breakfast, courtesy of our crew!
Funny - el gato is known and loved by all the hotel employees. But no one has ever given him a name. There are tons of stray dogs and cats roaming around Granada, all with no name...
