Had a very bad nights sleep. A noisy group drinking near the tents and some dog fight combined lead to about 2 hours peace. Went to the loo at 4am to find a huge black dog standing at the door to my tent, startled is an understatement! Were all on the bus for 8 to head to the marina to get the boat to the island of Capri. Good boat ride out there. Hot hot day even at 9am. Arrived and got straight on another boat for a trip around the island. Breathtakingly beautiful, went past the Green Grotto, White Grotto and Blue Grotto. Disappointingly we weren't able to go in because the sea was too high or rough, still well worth the trip tho. Arrived back on land and headed to get the bus to Anacapri. after a lots of faffing got a taxi to the top. The car was really cool. A stretched out one with no roof, had some form of canopy instead that squeezed 8 of us in. Took a hair raising route to the top of the island, a road on the side of the cliff at breakneck speed. Italian drivers amaze me! Anacapri lovely. Got some bread, cheese ham and tomatoes and made a very cheap lunch between us all. Went up on the chair lift after that, was a single seater deal, just wooded slatted chair heading up the mountain. good fun. Hopped off at the top and were treated to some amazing views. Could see out across the sea and onto the rest of the island, very picturesque. Spent some time up there admiring the views and taking countless photos. Came back down on the chairlift. more scary this time as steep slope made it feel as tho you were falling. To counteract this the wire made the chair bounce which was very amusing watching those in front. Came back down and pondered on the next plan. Ended up getting a bus down to Capri town. Perhaps even more nerve wracking than the taxi up. Had a little wander through the town, again very beautiful and headed down the steps back to the harbour. Found out there were rather a lot of stairs so very glad we hadn't climbed up! Others wanted to go to the beach and as there wasn't much else to do I went and sat on the beach for a couple of hours. Very pebbly and sore on the tootsies. Went for a swim and managed to get out of the sea on my hands and knees in a very glamourous attempt! Ferry was at 5 45 so caught that and enjoyed the ride. Had dinner at the campsite at 7 30 so missioned it up to the main town from the harbour, this time many steps up, not a happy bunny! Arrived back in time to have a quick shower and head to dinner. Found the organisation very bad at dinner, sometimes i wish I didn't know how to be doing it better! Dinner good tho and once all had arrived got stuck in. Went back into the town after dinner as hadn't seen much of Sorrento. Walked down to the town along slightly perilous road but all made it in one piece. Had good view over the town but was a bit dark, would've been good to do in the day. Looked around the shops and got shoed out of one by a man because we were looking at the bags to buy. I was just about to get it as well. his loss, my saving so I'm happy. Got the bus back up alone at 10 30 as the others were still shopping. Went straight to bed.
