Off on the bus to the Italian Explorer at 8. Was going with some of the others I'd been with in Venice so was good. Got to Pompeii at 11ish and had a guided tour. slightly disappointed tho. Pompeii was amazing but a place I felt I would rather have the chance to explore. Guide was really good and kept calling 'Busabout yoo hoo!' to get our attention which has become a running joke. Was unbelievable the things that survived, the paintings on the walls and the baths. A really modern city as well, had an early fast food place and even a mosaic with 'beware of the dog'! Very easy to imagine how life was then. Went and had lunch (bad) and got back on the bus to head to Sorrento. Arrived at campsite and checked into hard topped tent. they looked like changing huts at the beach, blue and white striped. Toilet hard to find, through a jungle and no loo roll supplied to had to make sure to take it! Went for orientation walk at 6pm with guide Denise. Ended up waiting an hour for the next bus load so missed on a lot of stuff but still got to see the square and shops. Went to a Limoncello shop but declined to taste it, not a huge fan of lemon and the other people's faces were very telling! Headed up to the restaurant with all the group, really good food. Even the fish looked tempting and I nearly tried some (miracle i know!) was so stuffed after dinner headed back via the shops, still open at 10 30pm, to the bus stop. Crashed into bed and fell asleep quickly.
