4 events in one day = feeling very tired! Glasgow put on a beautiful sunny and warm day, some say it was the Aussies that brought the sunshine with them! We started with the men's Hockey (pool games), saw Australia beat South Africa quite comfortably and half of the Wales vs Scotland game. Next we moved on to Gymnastics (male and female) which was fantastic! Amazing, amazing talent. Loved it, so excited to be watching more in 2 days time. After that was the women's 69kg Weightlifting finals, we super enjoyed this event. The English competitor was only 15 - OMG! We finished with the Athletics which included the female hammer throw final, male shot put final, male decathlon, women's triple jump, men's and females 100m finals. No Usain Bolt tonight, he was that good that he didn't't need to compete in the 100m event despite having the WR for the 100m and 200m event! The volunteers were not that helpful, quite often giving out wrong information. I suppose a lot of them aren't from Glasgow. The games had been so much fun, we had chatted with some great people (a lot of them being Aussies). Surreal we were there! So lucky to get all our requested tickets, it turns out a lot of locals got no tickets! Did we mentioned that we were super exhausted??! Shouldn't complain though :)
