We started the day by taking a cruise to Giudecca Island to see the glassblowing workshop. Then we spent a few hours on the island that hosts St Mark's Square and saw the Rialto Bridge. A pretty place, enjoyed seeing all the canals and gondolas. A late lagoon cruise and lunch was had on the island Burano which is famous for its multicolored houses. After leaving Innsbruck, we travelled into Italy and spent some time for lunch in Verona - we viewed Juliet's balcony, the setting for Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet and had a lovely walk around the market and shopping area. We had some time to ourselves this afternoon as the others did an optional activity, it was good to have some time away from the group. It was very hot today and therefore not surprising when it rained over dinner. Did not see a lot of Venice...
