Marty's Adventures
After just getting home from work yesterday I had a very early morning flight booked out of Yellowknife, taking advantage of my full two weeks off to travel. I have friends who are living in Leipzig, Germany for a few months so I am off to visit them as well as visit Berlin and Prague. My flight left Yellowknife at 0555hrs! I was suppose to fly direct to Calgary then direct to Frankfurt , however with the Lufthansa strike I ended up with a milk run. Yellowknife, Edmonton, Calgary, Toronto, Frankfurt and Leipzig. The flight from Toronto to Frankfurt was turbulent the whole way! The flight attendants were pretty much throwing our meals racing through the aisles in between the seatbelt sign going on and off and no hot beverages were served the whole flight ..... I had wine....it was needed!! We were an hour late landing in Frankfurt and when we got to customs there were only two officers. 500 people get off the plane and guess how long that took??! Another hour! Sooooooo I ran to my next plane and just barely made that flight. The Frankfurt airport is HUGE to say the least. We took a bus out to a plane way out on the Tarmac that was lined up with many other Lufthansa airplanes. Almost 24 hours later and I landed in Leipzig! Safe and sound!
