Somewhere between Yellowknife and Edmonton my favourite newish keen hiking shoes have acquired a squeak.....walking through the airport with heads turning to see where the horrible noise is coming from....and there is me embarrassed with every step! It is starting to drive me mad and perhaps buying new pair of shoes is on the agenda for my first day in Peru! I am hoping that the difference in temperature and humidity will make it go away, however that is likely wishful thinking!

When I entered my swank hotel room at the airport I thought I may of entered into a disco! There was a big funky mirror on the wall that had a light pointing at it creating a disco ball type effect! I did not sleep well....too excited and worried about sleeping through my wake up call and two alarms I had set!

Flight from Edmonton to Toronto went quick. I slept for about 45 mins. I am not a plane sleeper so that tells you how tired I was! I watched a movie called Tru Love, written and produced by a friend of a friend. Great movie!

I met up with Nat around 330 and we headed off to our gate where we grabbed a coffee and had a visit. We had booked our tickets separately and had never made requests for seats and our seats ended up together! Flight was great but lots of bumpy spots! Customs was super quick and off we went to find the sign with my name on it ......and no sign! No worries, I had done my research and knew that Green Taxis could be trusted and we had no issues finding one as he was right there following us! Turned out to be a nice guy and he even walked us up the promenade to the front door of our hotel. So here we are, extremely tired and very late at the Hotel Inka Path.

My shoe squeaked all through the old wooden floor hallway to our room! There just happens to be a Payless shoe store next door.....wonder if that is a sign!!

Off to sleep.....exploring Lima tomorrow!
