Well it's been a full 12 hours (roughly) since I last updated. I had a whirl wind of a day, after I finished posting the last update I went back down stairs and I hung out with everyone until I think about 10:30ish? When we all got together and stormed this little restaurant that was an 'Italian' joint. I had a dish called Dorra which was a rice dish. I had mine with 'seafood' which had shrimp and I THINK scallops? But I've never had scallops before so I'm just guessing it was baked with cheese and some other sort of sauce on it. It was VERY good, got to know more of the people who are here. I wish I could begin to explain everyone to you they're all such an amazing group. But after wards we went shopping and we probably walked AT LEAST 2miles round trip, first we went to Peico, which was like this all inclusive store it had clothes groceries kitchen items you name it, it was there. I bought some kitchen stuff for eating and a trash can (bathroom needed some color). And then we went to the grocery store. It was Wal-Mart but cooler (and that might because I'm biased against Wal-Mart and for Japan). I bought water, coke, grapes, jelly, bread and apples. Because honestly I couldn't tell you what ANY of that stuff was.
Like I thought that I knew what I was getting into - but it's really over whelming to know you have to carry everything back so you can't just load up on crap, and you have to remember that your fridge it tiny and you can't drive all this stuff back. Not to mention I don't know what any of it IS. I can't READ kana yet. Heck I don't even have the vocabulary for knowing what things are called in a grocery store. Although you can tell what the staple foods are here. Rice and fish. Something you would never see in America: fish that are NOT cut up or anything a WHOLE fish in a plastic wrap so you can get it and cut everything yourself. Yeah.American = lazy (not really).Something I saw that was funny, gloves that could peel a potato and scale a fish. Yeah. You wear the gloves and you can peel a potato or scale a fish. Hard core! That is awesome!
Their fruits are like Arnold, the govenator huge! I mean these grapes that I'm munching are at least an inch long and like half an inch in diameter. My apples like base balls. No joke. It's amazing.
So after we all got back from shopping we hung out in the main lobby and eventually we explored a little more of campus and then came back me and some others hung out in the lobby again and started to play this silly 'love fortune' game with a deck of playing cards. We did that for at least 2 hours. It was Michelle, Danielle, Lea (French), Emanuel, Kora, and Hugo. I found out that Lea loves Shinya from Dir en Grey and we both fan-girled for a little bit. And then we all went out to get dinner a huge group of us to a Ramen shop. A guy named Hamilton has a severe allergic reaction to Fish so there was a McDonalds down the road so I opted out of Ramen (I wasn't in the mood for it) and went with him to Mickey Dees. We had fun and talked - and I have to say McDonalds is better in Japan than America not a lot of grease, it's decent beef(no gristle!) and a good portion of lettuce and pickles and delicious. Then we walked back to meet the group and walked back to I-House. It was a busy day filled with fun. Tomorrow will also prove to be an exciting day - as for how much walking I will be willing to do will be up to my body.
Until then! Matte Ne!
