We have to go into town today to the postoffice and pharmacy. We woke up and had brunch. I had a melted cheese baguette and daniel had french toast with banana. We chilled out for a while in the restaurant lounge area while daniel skyped his dad. Reception arranged a tuktuk for us so we gathered all of our belongings that we stuffed into a canvas bag alex lent me and got in the tuktuk.
First stop was the post office. The little lady behind the counter acted like everything was in a rush and so she weighed the bag and we told her we want it flown to the UK. She then wrote on the paper it would cost us $57! So we asked how much if it is delivered on land and she said $38 which is just as bad really. A bit disappointed, we headed out and into the tuktuk to the pharmacy.
I asked the english speaking man for bandages and disinfectant as well as something to put over the wounds. He had it all except for an elastic thing for Daniel's elbow but we made do with elastic bandage which is practically the same. It cost us 9,700 real which is just over $2. As we headed back in the tuktuk daniel realised he didn't have his wallet.
We asked the driver to take us back to the post office, maybe he had left it there. But, when we arrived the woman hadn't seen it. It must have fell out of his pocket at some point. So he's lost a michael kors wallet and the $140 inside it. Things really aren't going well for us in kampot. We drove back to samon's villa to chill out. I tried taking the bandage off my left knee but the cotton wool has dried and merged with the blood from the wounds. I keep putting drinking water over it to soften the wool and pull it with tweezers; a slow process.
We headed to our restaurant and sat on the deck overlooking the river. I ordered a beef red curry which was nice. We chilled for a big and got pancakes with natural palm sugar which was like a thick paste which tasted like brown sugar. We looked above and there was a massive lizzard on the wooden plank on the ceiling. Dan said it was the mother of all geckos but it was far too big and blue to be one! I moved over to the other couch, thinking i was safe until i looked up and saw one above me as well. I jolted up and said to go back. We went back to the room and fell asleep pretty quickly.
