Amazingly, this time next week I’ll be in Southampton.
Just before breakfast we, well Barbara, nipped down to the launderette and was able to find two free machines. Straight after breakfast we transferred our stuff from the washers to the driers. At least I’ll only have a weeks worth of laundry to do at home if I can’t get to the fun factory again this cruise.
I finally picked up my passport today. We handed it over on embarkation day and I haven’t seen it since. This is the longest time we’ve been apart. I do have some new stamps in it though.
Whilst on our mile, it occurred to me to mention some of the odd people on the cruise. Smoking is allowed on the port side of the promenade deck. At one of the tables there is a Dutch (I think) lady, who always smokes a cigar in the morning. There are so many men with bald patches and long grey hair that I want to attack them with a pair of scissors. One of them wears the most godawful shorts that should be banned. You can almost see from one side of them to the next. No one over 30 should wear them. There’s another Dutch lady, slim and elegant who looks, according to Barbara, like she belongs on the Titanic. One object of appalled fascination to our group is a Scottish woman. She’s thin, haggard, brown, with no arse and a pair of rock solid boobs. One other sight is another Dutch (I think) lady who is also thin, brown but properly proportioned. Finally, there is a pair of twins. Blokes, probably late 70’s, always dressed the same except for their socks or wristwatches on different arms. They are so rude.
The sea has been quite choppy and the sun has been out, so quite pleasant temperatures. The clocks went forward again, so now we’re only two hours different from home.
The Hinds, Barbara and I had dinner in Sindhu tonight. Scott and Luke joined us. It’s the first time I’ve seen them since they got engaged in Antigua. It looks like the wedding will be in 2020. Before dinner Barb and I had a drink in Anderson’s and we hit a particularly big pothole and a lot of stuff behind the bar moved noisily. I guess some of the glassware broke too.
Because of the movement, Barb went back to the cabin after dinner. It was a bit late to get upstairs to join the Syndicate Quiz so, as Tony & Pat weren’t around, I tagged on to the Hinds and the Hockins for the music quiz. We won, but they chose stickers instead of wine. I let Linda have mine, I don’t need or want anything they award for them.
