Today we sailed through the Beagle Channel before heading into the Magellan Straits. On one side of us was Chile and on the other Argentina. We passed by Tierra del Fuego. We sailed past some glaciers, snow capped mountains and amazing scenery. I had forgotten how beautiful the Chilean fjords are. It was cold and windy but spectacular. Today we went round the horn, Cape Horn. The captain decided that the weather would be kind to us and so we went round Cape Horn Island, which meant that we went past Cape Horn. Then it was into the Beagle Channel and on towards Punta Arenas. Cape Horn is famous for its bad weather, but for us it was very calm. The weather we had leaving Southampton was 10 times worse.
