So I arrived in Paris monday morning at 8:15am after an always eventful standby experience. I was trying for two flights, bolth leaving at 8pm from montreal. Paris and Frankfurt. The Paris flight was over sold by 20 seats and there was 10 other standby passengers trying to get on with a higher priority than me. So, I booked for the Frankfurt and it looked like I had a good chance...."come back at 7pm and wait to see if your name gets called". So I came back at 7pm and suprisingly they were handing out tickets in a frenzy to standby passengers for Paris. I waited patiently and finally when they were ready to start with the Frankfurt tickets I told the woman if there were spots left on the Paris flight, I would much rather do that....boom...one way ticket to Paris if I can make it through security and to the gate in time. No problems right......get to security and I have one too many carry on bags. Talk my way through it, rearrange a few things and I was back on track, and made it through security with time to spare. Once at the gate I met up with captain Bill (my dad) for a few moments as he was flying that night and was able to sneak away to say good-bye.
Once in Paris I oriented myself, found the TGV, jumped on and made my way to Switzerland....my new homeland. (15hrs since leaving Montreal, 1 hr of sleep and I had arrived at 3:30pm in the afternoon ready to begin exploring).
