Today we started the day with a morning walk through the village of Zeneggan. Once again it was looking like a beautiful sunny day with the having already quietly made its apearance.
We were back at the hotel to sit out on the patio in the sun and have our swiss buffet style breakfast. They thought is was funny that we wanted to sit outside but were very accomodating and set up the table and brought coffee and tea for all. The breakfast was really good and had all the usual swiss comforts (Several cheeses, homemade bread, fruit, yogourt, muesli, jams etc)
We then were charged with having to decided what to day that day. The only constraint was that we had to have my parents at their next Bed and Breakfast in Chardonne along the Lac Leman for 9pm, and Aline home to be able to work the next day. We discussed with the son of the hotel owners and he set us out in the car around the mountain and up even higher to be abe to hike to the peak, Stand. The drive was another interesting one but by this time I was getting comfortable, that was until we encountered a bus coming down as we were going up!
Along the way we stopped at a chalet that served coffee and tea for a little break and had some fun chatting with the owners. 10 min later we were out of the car and on the path towards stand. The views from the top were as always, beautiful. We decided on a spot to sit and picnic which gave us a direct view of the Mont Blanc. More wine and cheese and of course lots of sun.
Then it was time to hit the road again and make our way back to the lac area. along the way we took a few detours to look at some interesting sights, sion and the vinyards along the lac Leman, and eventually made our way to Lausanne where we stopped to have a drink along the water as the sun set.
Time for dinner, so we made our way along the water and back into the vinyard territory where we found a nice restaurant. Then to Chardonne to find my parents Bed and Breakfast for the evening. The owners were extremly nice and helped us over the phone when we couldnt find the place and then were very welcoming when we finally arrived. The house was gorgeous with a view over Vevey and the Lac Leman. We left my parents and then hit the road for the 50 min drive back to Geneva for the night. Another long and eventful day.
