This trip came about because Michael wanted to see where he was born, Leicester England. Well after a little over four months and 25,000 kilometres we are here and it has been the "experience of a lifetime". I thought I would share some facts with you so that anyone that is interested in planning their own trip will have some idea of what we have endured.
Distance: 25,000K
Tyres: Three rears, the first did 9,000K and the second did 15,000K
Times we dropped the bike: Seven, only twice while moving!
Breakages, or failures: Universal battery charger, mounting bolt for topbox, mounting bolt for rear guard, mounting for topbox cracked, GPS screen.
Lost: One phone.
Punctures: 0!
Average speeds: Russia east 58kph, west 72kph, Mongolia 40kph, Scandinavia 62kph.
Cost: Until Moscow we averaged around $400 a week for the two of us, for food, fuel, accommodation, ferries and customs. Since Moscow, a lot more, we have been trying to keep to $700 a week, but it has been very hard.
Fuel consumption: Average around 5L/100
Availability of fuel: Never a problem, we did around 400k between stops in Mongolia and Russia.
Fines and bribes: None
Memories: Immeasurable
From here we start the second leg of our trip, Europe, starting in France and finishing in England again next year. So keep coming back and we will keep you updated on our progress.

Janet McIntyre Hey! That is lovely and interesting too. Who would've thought such numbers could touch the heart. I think that you began and rounded this blog off with such "heart" stuff, helped. No punctures or fines or bribes! Memories: Immeasurable. Says so much more than words. Thank you.
